WELCOME TO THE CENTRAL VALLEY PARKINSON’S SUPPORT GROUP!
All of us in the Central Valley Parkinson’s Support
Group are dealing with, or have dealt with, Parkinson’s Disease. There is a lot of hope with
modern research. Don’t give up! It really helps to know you are not alone…
that others know what you are going through… that we truly do understand. Some of us in our Central
Valley Parkinson’s Support Group (CVPSG) have Parkinson’s Disease. Some are caregivers.
Some are family members. Some are friends. All are welcome!
Participants come from Porterville, Dinuba, Kingsburg, Lemoore, Hanford, Tulare, Lindsay, Exeter, Visalia… and
you, too, are welcome! We meet at 10:30 a.m. on the first Friday of each month at
the Visalia United Methodist Church, on the northeast corner of Caldwell & Akers, in Visalia. However,
we traditionally do not meet in July. We conclude our meetings about 12:00 noon, following a light, catered
lunch. Sometimes we have informational speakers and sometimes we just share what is new for us.
Any sharing is totally voluntary. There are generally about 35 people at each meeting, sitting at
tables, getting to know each other a bit, hearing a short, informative presentation, and having a bite to eat!
The next meeting is November 7. Come and bring a friend! Speaker: Ann Stillman, L.C.S.W. Program is: "Emotions and Parkinson's Disease" Lots of good and
helpful info for us! Lunch:
Hamburgers and Chicken Sandwiches Dessert Committee: Peggy Limperio, Neva Appling & Kimberly
Vega Currently we
are involved in two major projects:
♥ the
Annual Parkinson’s Unity Walk, which raises funds for Parkinson’s research, and
♥
Providing professionals and their assistants with information which is specific to people with Parkinsons.
Both
of our projects, while important, are secondary to being a support group for the membership. You do
not need a reservation – just come, either alone, or with somebody.
Park
in the south end of the Akers Street parking lot. We would be honored to meet you.

Mission Statement
The purpose of the Central Valley Parkinson's
Support Group (CVPSG) is to inform and support those in our community who have Parkinson's Disease and provide information
to the family, friends and caregivers of those with Parkinson's Disease. In as much as CVPSG is able, we will raise funds
for research into the cause and cure of Parkinson's Disease. The CVPSG will network with other Parkinson's Support
Groups and with the National Parkinson's organizations.
